Video of Travis Kelce followed by camera crew at Eras Tour show goes viral
A video of Travis Kelce leaving Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour while being followed by a camera crew has gone viral, strengthening theories that the pop superstar is filming a documentary about her record-breaking tour.
The singer-songwriter kicked off the final leg on October 18, having first embarked on the tour in March 2023. A lot has transpired since it first started, as Swift has dropped two Taylor’s Version rerecordings of her albums—2010’s Speak Now and 2014’s 1989—as well as her entirely new 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. The Eras Tour has also gone on to become the highest-grossing concert tour of all time.
Swift is also believed to be recording a tell-all Eras Tour documentary sharing how the 149 shows were created. Now a video of Kelce spending his Saturday night watching his girlfriend perform her second show in Indianapolis has gained traction online, with people sharing their theories about the potential documentary.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Swift for comment on Monday outside of normal business hours.
Former The Bachelorette star Ali Manno née Fedotowsky shared a video to her Instagram story of Kelce walking past her while at the show and being filmed as he did so. Whenever the Kansas City Chiefs tight attends the Eras Tour, he leaves the audience early so he can greet Swift when she gets off stage.
“Travis Kelce just walked by me and Molly. And yes, the song means we lasted till the very end!” Manno wrote over her video as Swift sang “Karma” in the background. “Goins hang till the end to support our girl.”
The clip has since been shared by two different accounts on X (formerly Twitter) and one of the posts has gone viral.
The video was shared by the X account Taylor Swift updates which wrote in the caption: “Travis Kelce leaving the show while being followed by a camera crew!” At the time of writing, it had been viewed more than 531,000 times.
User @kait518 also shared the video and, on both posts, fans have theorized that the cameras mean Kelce was being recorded for the documentary.
“the camera crew is stressing me out but i am telling myself it’s for a documentary that will come out in december,” one person wrote.
“I can’t wait for the documentary the bts [behind the scenes] stuff is gonna be so fascinating to see,” said another.
“THIS IS ACTUALLY TORTURE I WANT THE DOCUMENTARY NOW #greedy,” a third person posted.
A fourth added: “THE CAMERA OH TAYCUMENTARYYY.”
“I’m shaking omg [oh my God] it’s happening,” someone else commented.
This isn’t the only clip of Kelce at the concert on Saturday that has gone viral, as a video on TikTok showed the tight end smiling and dancing to “So High School” alongside Swift’s mom, Andrea Swift. At the time of writing, the video had been viewed over 401,400 times.
According to media reports, as well as documenting the tour, the pop superstar will also discuss her experience of dealing with traumatic events while on the road. There was the Southport knife attack in England, which saw two children die and another nine injured—six critically—during a Swift-themed yoga and dance class for kids.
In a statement on Instagram, Swift said she was “completely in shock,” writing: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously … These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
The documentary will also reportedly touch on the foiled terror plot that saw her forced to cancel three shows in Vienna, Austria. Security for the shows was heightened after a 19-year-old was arrested in Ternitz, about an hour south of Vienna, and a second person was arrested in the Austrian capital. However, event organizer Barracuda Music later called off the concerts, saying that “we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety.”
Swift took to Instagram to express her devastation over the cancellations and her gratitude to the authorities, writing: “Thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
The Eras Tour will continue through December 8, when it will wrap in Vancouver, Canada.
