The New York Mets’ run to the National League Championship Series meant that many typical offseason activities got a later start than usual. Among them: the usual assortment of health updates about players for whom the 2024 season took such a physical toll, a visit to the operating room was not far away.

For outfielder Tyrone Taylor, a couple visits were necessary.

The Mets announced Friday that Taylor underwent an umbilical hernia repair Oct. 30 with Dr. Venkata Evani in Phoenix, Arizona. He also underwent a right elbow loose body removal yesterday with Dr. James Carr in New York.

According to the team, the average return to play timelines for these procedures is approximately two months.
