Man arrested after double shooting in Stockton leaves 30-year-old dead, 18-year-old injured
A homicide suspect connected to a shooting that occurred earlier this month was captured Tuesday by members of a U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Stockton Police Department reported.
De’Arius Wilson, 22, was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday, jail records show.
Wilson is believed to be involved with the killing of Richard Guerrero III, 30, of Stockton.
Officers found Guerrero and an 18-year-old man with gunshot wounds at about 6:44 p.m. on Nov. 18 near East Park and North California streets. They were both taken to a local hospital for treatment. The teen was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and released from the hospital, but Guerrero died of his injuries, according to police.
Wilson is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 2.
