Fans, Pro Wrestlers Aid TNA Superstar Who Suffered Significant Neck Injury

TNA Bound For Glory 2024 took a turn for the worse in the main event when fan-favorite Chris Bey suffered a severe neck injury in the main event tag team match.

TNA soon updated that Bey was recovering following surgery.

“He was resting in his hospital room Monday night, joking, talking about Bound For Glory and in good spirits,” TNA said on its website. “Chris will be in Detroit for a few days and family members have joined him, along with TNA Wrestling management and wrestlers who are staying in Detroit.”

Now, multiple fans and fellow professional wrestlers have come together to help the beloved star pay his medical bills.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was started to help out the “Ultimate Finesser” on Oct. 28. It has already reached $76,880 at the time of writing from over 500 donations.

Donators include fans of the wrestler as well as professional wrestling icons, including Adam Copeland, TNA president Scott D’Amore, Matt Hardy, Chris Jericho, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, TNA Champion Nic Nemeth, Will Ospreay, and Matt Cardona.

According to a statement from Bey shared on the TNA Wrestling X account, he is overwhelmed by the response.

“I just want to take a few moments to extend my heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation for so much and to so many over the past few days,” Bey said. “From everyone at TNA Wrestling to the incredible medical staff here in Detroit, to family, friends, and fans worldwide.”

“I know you have been praying for my full recovery from the in-ring accident this past Sunday. Monday was Day One for me on this journey, which I know will be long and challenging. Thanks again for the love and support, and please keep the prayers coming!”

In addition to the GoFundMe, TNA is hosting The Ultimate Finesse Auction live on Friday, Nov. 8, at 2:00 p.m.

Chris Bey has been a professional wrestler since 2016, performing in countless independent promotions as well as TNA, WWE, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), and Ring of Honor.

In TNA, Bey is a former TNA World Tag Team Champion and Impact X Division Champion.

Bey is currently the All Pro Wrestling (APW) Junior Heavyweight Champion, Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW) Mecca Grand Champion, and FSW Tag Team Champion with Ace Austin.
