Fan-Favorite WWE Superstar Makes Unexpected Comeback
Last night’s episode of NXT saw the surprising return of a fan-favorite former WWE champion: Gigi Dolin.

At last night’s NXT house show in Lakeland, Florida, Dolin made an unexpected return to the ring, marking her first match since March. The two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion faced off against Cora Jade and triumphed in her highly anticipated in-ring comeback.
Dolin’s return comes after a significant absence from WWE television. Her last match took place on the March 12th episode of NXT, where she lost to Arianna Grace by disqualification. Following that bout, Dolin disappeared from the programming, and it was later reported that she had suffered a serious knee injury.
In the weeks leading up to her hiatus, Dolin had been involved in a storyline with Grace, who had been giving Dolin a makeover after her loss. However, the program was quietly dropped, likely due to Dolin’s injury, after only a few weeks of backstage vignettes.
At 27 years old, Dolin is one of the longest-tenured performers on NXT, having been a part of the brand since early 2021. Prior to WWE, Dolin wrestled on the indie circuit under her real name, gaining fame for her bold, edgy persona, as well as Shine Wrestling and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. Additionally, she has appeared on AEW several times, including an unexpected appearance at All Out, competing in the 2019 Casino Battle Royale and a 2020 episode of Dynamite.
She is perhaps best known for her role in the faction Toxic Attraction, alongside Mandy Rose and Jacy Jayne. Together, the trio dominated the NXT women’s division, with Dolin capturing the now-retired NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship twice.

Her return to the ring is a significant moment, not just for her career but for the NXT women’s division, as Dolin has long been a standout talent and a key figure in its development. It also comes at a key moment for women’s wrestling in WWE, with Rhea Ripley also unexpectedly returning from a legitimate injury and challenging Liv Morgan to a brawl at WWE Survivor Series WarGames.
Now that Dolin is apparently back in the mix, it could potentially change the dynamics of power in women’s wrestling for WWE, but we’ll just have to wait for her next in-ring appearance.
