Two days after revealing facial paralysis on the left side of her face in a harrowing video posted as an Instagram Story, former Teen Mom OG star Bristol Palin has come out with a bold new statement about her condition. In a follow-up Story posted Friday, January 31, Palin, 34, denied that her ordeal was caused by anything elective — mainly Botox, filler or the COVID vaccine.

“I’ve seen so much speculation on what this is caused by,” said the daughter of former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. “So many people are trying to blame the COVID vaccine. I never had the COVID vaccine. So many people are also saying, ‘Oh it’s caused by Botox or filler.’ I haven’t had filler in years. I have lip filler from years ago, but nothing new. And in terms of Botox, I haven’t done that in a long time, too.”

Instead, Palin said that she was experiencing Bell’s Palsy, which is a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face that results in a drooping appearance, according to the Mayo Clinic. “Bell’s Palsy can be set off by stress,” she continued in her video. “I’m stressed, I probably don’t sleep that great. So it’s definitely eye-opening for that aspect.”

To combat the stress, the reality TV star said she was turning to natural remedies.

“I have more acupuncture next week,” she revealed. “I’m going to try a lymphatic massage, doing all the things.”

She said in the January 31 Instagram Story that it was her eleventh day with the facial paralysis, she thought it was getting better, and she hoped it would clear up in a few weeks.

“It’s a weird thing; it happens to quite a few people,” she said. “So many people have DMed me saying that they’ve had it before.”

In her original post, Palin — who is mom to son Tripp, 16, daughters Sailor, 9 and Atlee, 7 — said that a doctor put her on steroids after a CT scan, which was ordered because the left side of her face went numb and she “couldn’t really blink” her left eye.
