Woman tries to enjoy breakfast in bed, her cat has other ideas

A cat owner from Tulsa, Oklahoma, was trying to have breakfast in bed when her rag-doll cat invited himself to join, in a video that has left internet users in stitches.
The viral clip shared on TikTok in February by @cheddartheragdoll shows the feline Cheddar trying to steal his mom’s sausage patty from her plate. She holds him back by grabbing his head.
“When you have cats, there is no peace during breakfast in bed,” reads layover text in the clip. The caption says: “I hope his birth mother knows he pushes my limits daily.”
If it were up to cats, they’d eat food off our plates all the time, but many of the things that we eat can be toxic or even fatal to them.
In an article shared by Preventive Vet, Dr. Beth Turner says that these foods include garlic, onions, chives, alcohol, chocolate, grapes, raisins, currants, caffeine, raw meat, raw seafood, raw liver, bones, raw dogs, raw eggs, and avocados.
Cats should also avoid milk and dairy products because they are lactose intolerant and canned tuna because of the risk of mercury poisoning. They should also not eat dog food because it has no nutritional value and can lead to weight gain.
If your cat accidentally consumes something toxic, don’t panic. According to the United Kingdom-based animal charity Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, you should remove the source of poison and call your veterinarian immediately to get help.
The RSPCA also says it’s important not to medicate them or make them vomit and to keep them away from other pets to avoid cross-contamination.
According to a Catster article medically reviewed by Dr. Karyn Kanowski, human foods that cats can safely eat include cooked and deboned fresh-caught salmon; cooked and deboned meats like chicken, beef, turkey, lamb, and pork (with no seasoning); cooked organ meats; and cooked shrimp.
