The race for U.S. representative from Maryland First District pits longtime Republican incumbent Andy Harris vs. Democratic challenger Blane Miller III.

Lower Shore General Election results: Election results

Maryland’s First United States Congressional District largely encompasses the state’s Eastern Shore. In addition to the nine Shore counties, the district also includes Harford County and some of Eastern Baltimore County.

Harris is in his seventh term in the House of Representatives, and is the only Republican currently in the state’s congressional delegation. His Democratic challenger, Miller, owns a construction consulting firm in Havre de Grace.
